Write for Perspicora

Journalists, commentators, and other writers outside the newsroom may offer a piece for publication. An editor decides whether it runs. Sending a text does not publish it, and it does not give the writer a login to the newsroom.

What an accepted piece looks like

The byline is yours. The piece is labelled as an outside contribution. If it is opinion, it is labelled as opinion. It is not presented as reporting by the Perspicora desk. The same standards apply as to any other story: sources, quotations, and a public correction if a material fact is wrong. Those standards are on Editorial standards.

If someone paid you to write the piece, or paid for it to appear, it is sponsored material and will be labelled that way. Payment does not buy a news label.

Rights

You keep the copyright. To be published, you grant Perspicora a non-exclusive license to publish the piece, to correct it, and to withdraw it. You confirm that you have the right to offer it. The terms for ordinary messages do not by themselves transfer a finished article.

How to send a piece

A submission address is not open. This page does not accept files, and there is no contact form. Do not send a manuscript to a guessed address. When a real editorial mailbox exists, it will be listed here.

Do not send confidential material, documents that identify a source at risk, or anything you would not want to sit in an ordinary inbox. Perspicora has no secure intake for that.
